ODT Control can be purchased as a stand-alone product or as an extension to Metalogic's Supervisor product. It enables security on the usage of sensitive Operator Commands, such as MP, RC and SL, to be strictly controlled. ODTCONTROL can also monitor command usage from the ODT or MARC and programmatic interfaces such as DCKEYIN and SETSTATUS
About ODT Control
An interface is also available to the Locum product Censor, extending Censor to be able to monitor commands from the ODT and programmatic origin, in addition to the security provided for MARC.
ODTControl does not depend on the presence of the Unisys Infoguard product.
ODTCONTROL protection is implemented by the use of the TT RESTRICT system command which is described below.
TT RESTRICT command
The TT RESTRICT command is used to enable protection on the use of ODT commands that should not be used unless the caller has certain privileges.
Protected commands will be rejected unless they originate from stations or programs running under a pre-designated system usercode, called the ODTSECURITY user. When a command is rejected, an event notice is passed to Supervisor.
Using Supervisor's OPAL programming facilities, this notice could be processed to trigger security alert messages or approve and execute the command. Command filtering based on a wide range of criteria, such as, usercode, station, time of day, past history, current performance, etc.
