◆ Alert #2: Metalogic Software MCP 48.1.42

12th July 2002

The recent release of MCP IC MCP-048.1A.42 [48.189.042] (48.189.8630) in July 2002 causes a major problem with Metalogic software. When the Magus library initialises it instantly enters a tight processor loop. The only option is to DS the Magus library, therefore no Metalogic software will be able to run. At this time, this MCP change is not believed to have been retrofitted to earlier MCP levels such as 46.1 and 47.1. A detour has been applied to the Magus library and is described below:

Dnote MAGUS 480.11 FIX CPU LOOP ON MCP 481.42 IC
Date: Thu, July 11 2002 This patch fixes a problem where MAGUS would enter a CPU loop during initialization code on MCP level 481.42 IC. It is believed that, at this time, only 48.1 MCP code files are affected.

You can determine the version of the MAGUS library:

Supervisor: 'TT WS' command
Flex Inquiry: 'WHAT' command
Jampack only: PD or LFIL of the SL-ed *METALOGIC/MAGUS code file

If you intend to migrate to this MCP or later and you are not using MAGUS version 480.11 or later, please request a new support release via by email at support@metalogic.eu.com
