Five digit mix and job numbers can now be entered in the data entry screen.

480.01 FIX WRONG FILEID PATTERN ON INQ
Mon, June 24 2002

If a rule had no FILEID pattern or Example, an Inquiry on the rule could display the pattern or example from a prevously displayed rule. This problem has been corrected.

480.01 CHANGE VERSION TO 48
Wed, March 13 2002

This patch only changes the version to 48. Version 470.03 is still valid for MCP 48.

470.03 ALLOW ZERO RETENTION IF ONLY ONE LOCATION
Date: Fri., September 21 2001

TRIM will now permit a retention duration of zero, if only one location has been specified. TRIM previously would only allow the last location to be zero if more than one location was specified.

470.02 RULE HOSTNAME/SAVE/NEVER ADD-ONS
Date: Fri., July 13 2001

It is now possible to assign the keys words SAVE and NEVER in the retention units field of a rule definition. SAVE means that, by default, the SAVEFACTOR of the tape will be used to calculate expiry date. No retention value will be allowed but normal generation and location controls can be set. The NEVER modifier allows a tape matching this rule to be assigned PGNEVER status, again no retention value is permitted.

Also, TRIM rules may now be assigned HOSTNAMEs characteristics. In the TRIM utility maintenance screens, provision is now available for HOSTNAME patterns and examples. As before, TRIM will verify that the combination of user, volume id, file id and hostname is unique. A rule with no hostname pattern cannot coexist with an identical rule which has a hostname pattern.

When rule matching is applied after tape creation or due to a SR command, if a hostname pattern exists, it will be matched to the hostname of the system on which that tape was created.

As part of these changes, many of the TRIM screens have ben changed to accommodate the hostname facilities and to generally improve clarity

470.01 PREVENT RUNNING ON SLAVE SYSTEM
Date: Wed, September 6 2000

TRIM now checks to see if it is running on a slave system and if so it aborts.

TRIM should only be run on Master systems.

450.01 INVALID INDEX IN DATA ENTRY
Date: Wed, March 10 1999

The TRIM utility would fail with an INVALID INDEX when processing a new tape passed by the DATA ENTRY module.

This problem has now been fixed. Also corrected a problem where times entered in the data entry screen were not passed correctly to the Database.

420.04 NO SCRATCH POOL IN LOCATIONS
Date: Wed, February 3 1999

The special location 'SCRATCH POOL' should not be used in the location fields when adding or modifying a rule as the TRIM system will automatically move tapes to this location when expired. To avoid this confusion, the TRIM utility will now reject any rule modification, if a location contains 'SCRATCHPOOL' or 'SCRATCH POOL', with the following error message:

     Location SCRATCH POOL not allowed
