The Volume Copy utility can be used to create a CD-ROM Image file from a mounted CD Volume.
It uses the information in one of the Primary Volume Descriptors to determine the number of sectors in the volume, and then copies the sectors to a file.
The utility can be used to create a CD-ROM Image file from an ISO9660, Joliet or Library/Maintenance CD Image, or hybrids of these types.
Menu | Function | Description |
---|---|---|
Source | The source volume. | |
Select CD-ROM Image File | A CD-ROM Image file. Since the file is already an image, the only reason to do this is to ensure that the PVDs match the actual image file size. | |
Select CD-ROM Unit | A Library/Maintenance CD or DVD mounted on a CD or DVD Drive under Windows. Access to DVD/CD Drives is through the ASPI Driver which must be installed. | |
Destination | The destination image file. | |
Select CD-ROM Image File | The name of the CD-ROM Image file to be created. |
Once the Source and Destination have been selected, the Copy button can be used to Copy the Volume to a CD-ROM Image File.
If the Image file is an ISO9660 or Joliet VOlume, the file extension is usually .iso.
If the Image file is a Library/Maintenance Volume or hybrid, the file extension is usually .mcp.
